Taj Mahal in the Indian city of Agra on the south bank of the Yamuna River is an ivory white marble mausoleum. In 1632 the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (reigned 1628-1658) was commissioned by his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal's tomb house.
